Specimen Transport Containers

BIOHAZARD BAGS
These bags are marked with the orange and black biohazard insignia and have two pouches. One pouch is for the specimen(s) and the other is for the requisition(s). Original specimen containers must be securely closed and the ziplock closure on the biohazard bag must be completely secured to prevent leakage from the bag.

PUNCTURE PROOF COOLERS
Hard plastic puncture proof coolers marked with the biohazard label are to be used when transporting specimens that are also inside biohazard bags. For specimens that need to be refrigerated, an ice pack should be included inside the cooler.
